Having problems with your Kenmore 24 in. 17362 / 17364 / 17369 Built-in Dishwasher ?

Kenmore 17369 When cycle starts... it sounds terrible (crackly sounding).... doesn't sound like the water is coming into the dishwasher. If I add water to the machine during a rinse cycle...it will wash and drain on its own.... Then I hit cancel. Please help.. I can't locate the owners manual.. Do you know where I can get one.. I understand that you can open the bottom up and see if there is anything lodged in the bottom of the dishwasher. Please help! thanks Cheryl

The problem is your water inlet valve.

If you remove the panel at the bottom of the dishwasher you will see\015\012either a copper hard pipe, or a flexible steel hose leading into the\015\012water inlet valve.

BE SURE TO CUT OFF THE WATER SUPPLY. It is\015\012probably located under the kitchen sink- just follow the water line\015\012until you see a cutoff handle.

Now (or first, if you prefer) cut off the power to the dishwasher, or if possible, unplug it. The\015\012valve is activated by an\015\012electromagnet (called a solenoid)- carefully remove the plug from the side of the solenoid (its best to use pliers so that you don't accidentally yank the wires out of the plug) on the valve.

Now, loosen the nut that connects the water line to the valve (a small adjustable wrench works best, but it's a tight space, so be patient.) disconnect the water supply hose and remove the valve.

Check and see if the screen\015\012(just inside where the water supply line connects to the valve) is\015\012clogged with limescale. If it is, you can clean it out fairly well with\015\012CLR or Limeaway, and that might fix your problem. If it doesn't you can\015\012order a new one online, or take it to an appliance parts store if there\015\012is one in your area. They are pretty common. If you do order it online, be sure to look it up using the model number of your unit (usually on a sticker on the inside of the door. Different models might use sightly diffferent valves depending on where under the machine they are attached.

Good Luck!

Our kitchen drain clogged recently and water drained back into our VUD141 dishwasher. A plumber cleared the drain, and turned on the DW - which pumped out the standing water. The plumber who cleared the drain said he didn't DO dishwashers, and I cannot locate the owner's manual since we prepared for a move.

After wash cycles are completed there is about 1/2 gallon of water remaining in the bottom of the washer. I checked the drain that exits into a disposal and that is clear. All around the bottom of the washer base is clean and I can find no obstruction. Nothing in the owners manual gives me a clue as what else to do. I don't want to start taking things apart unless I have to.

Hi, I have a Kenmore 15879 that is basically working except the bottom water spinner...lol (don't know technical name). The dishwasher pumps the water into the bottom of the dishwasher, will heat the water, but not disperse the water in the spinning sprinkler manner it's suposed to. I've opened the dishwasher in time to see that water is spurting out of the holes about 2" high, but it's just not spinning. The water also drains just fine after the whole cycle.
