Having problems with your Kenmore Dishwashers ?

I have a kenmore ultra wash quietguard deluxe & notice it has been connected to the hot water supply. As I am making some changes I would prefer to connect the cold water supply will this make any difference to the operation of the dishwasher. The unit is less than 2 years old. Thank you

Answers :

Depends... some units heat the water for you in which case it would not matter and would infact save you money over time. If your unit does not heat the water your going to want to leave it alone for better cleaning performance. Check your owners manual to find out whether it heats the water or not.

When starting wash cycle the dishwasher cda cw447 doesnt appear to be getting enough water in and is making a droning / whirring / electrical ? noise. pipes all connected ok inc aquastop water supply unit, no kinks etc. machine 3 1/2 yrs old, just started making this noise. appears to complete rapid cycle but still making unusual sound. water drains away fine from this cycle, dont believe pipes / hoses are blocked.

I have a Neff Dishwasher and I think the problem is due to the cold water inlet valve. When the dishwasher starts it drains any water and then should stat to fill. If I monitor the voltage to the valve it does switch to 240V but still fails to fill. I have verified that the cold supply works OK and the filter on the inlet is clean. The dishwasher is a NEFF GB5121 and is about 20 Years old.

Portable Dishwasher Hello, We just got a used Haier portable dishwasher, model HDP18PA and while the hose connnects fine to the sink, the water isn't going into the dishwasher and is coming out of the connection. Does that make sense? It looks like, if it operates properly, the water should be sucked into the dishwasher but the connector isn't pulling the water in. Help! Thank you! Tara

You have to have a good seal. Get a hose washer from your local hardware store and replace both of them on the hose if they are like a garden hose. If you still don't get any water to the unit, post again and I'll step you through it. ... Dishwashers

I have a JennAire jdb1090aws dishwasher. It's about 4 years old. The symptom is no water flowing through dishwasher. Approx 3 months after installation, the same symptom occurred. Tech resolved with float switch adjustment (no charge). Has run fine every since. I have not checked water supply, but doubt this is the problem (new water heater 3 months ago, sediment gone). My Siemens dishwasher SL34A sometimes makes loud vibration noises from the supply line at the water pump connection. I can turn off the water and back on it will quit, but sometimes starts again. And it does not matter how open or closed the supply line valve is either. I'm told it is likely the water pump, but this model has a combination water pump/motor assembly and I do not care to put another $230 into it. thx, TS.

I want to disconnect the water supply. I am replacing this 12 year old slimline smeg dishwasher and they are coming to take it away to morrow. The connection to the water supply is via a grey plastic box with and electrical sign on it ( a lightning flash with an arrow on the end). Although I have disconnected the eletricity supply (unplugged the cable to the machine) I am concerned about what this bos may be. Can I just unplug it?

Hello Henry,\015\012\015\012It's the aqua-stop safety valve and yes, you can just unplug it. Make sure you close the valve on the water-supply first or it's going to get rather messy!\015\012\015\012FYI, the aqua-stop is a sec ... Dishwashers

This a message for phil. The aquastop valve was not under the dishwasher. On my model, it was fitted directly onto the water inlet pipe. I replaced the valve as you suggested. After removing the old valve you could see through the clear plastic housing that water was leaking inside the valve. Anyway replaced valve but had to split wires and reconnect with connections supplied with the valve and according to instructions. Water leak has now stopped but when 'on' button is depresse

The dishwasher was recently removed for floor refinishing and reinstalled. The bottom rotor works but the top rotor does not. I asked the re-installer, who worked for the moving company, if he had connected everything properly and he said there was just one water line going into the machine and assured me he had connected it properly. Is there something else that needs to be done to make the top rotor operational? Thanks. John M

I have an LG LDF6810ST dishwasher that has a leak on the bottom right hand side of the door. It appears to be leaking from inside the door itself. The dishwasher is 2 years old. I checked the inlet water to make sure connections were not leaking and they were not. I live in a rural part of Alaska so after talking with the LG help desk I'm pretty much on my own. Any ideas?

My Kenmore Elite UtraWash Dishwasher won't drain completely. We have checked the hoses (water supply and drain connected to the disposal) - both are free of obstructions. We have taken the whole thing apart but can't get the plastic cover off to access the motor or "garbage disposal thingy" inside the dishwasher. All of the bolts were taken out, but it was still firmly attached. Didn't want to force it and potentially make the problem worse. Any suggestions before I call Sears Repair people

Frigidaire Dishwasher won't start (lights cycle but no water/motor) Model Number: FDB1050REB2 Brand: Frigidaire Our dishwasher is 1.25 years old and already not working (grrr!). My Kenmore Elite dishwasher (model 665.17462300) is not spraying the water from the basin in the bottom up through the rest of the dishwasher. The basin fills with water, then just makes a humming noise and appears to splash a little of the water around the very bottom of the dishwasher. When we cancel the cycle, it does drain out the water from the basin. I cleaned all the gunk and debris out of the basin in the bottom, but it didn't make any difference.

Hello, my Bosch Classixx dishwasher SGS43E42EU/21 has me stumped. It starts by taking in water but when "filled" pumps out for a couple of seconds then refills for say 10 seconds more before another 2 or 3 seconds of pumping out. This cycle continues for ages without starting to wash. I've tried various things: - checked the Auto Stop valve isn't being activated by leakage (removing the polystyrene float and bottom tray makes no difference - there's no leak) - the valve seems to operate it

I have a Kenmore Quietguard dishwasher, only a few years old, and it won't drain. I pulled it out and checked the drain hose, could not find a clog. I took the basket and sprayer out, couldn't find any clogs there. It seems to be making a little bit of a different noise but does still clean the dishes. Does the motor pump the water out and could that be the problem?

Dishwasher I have a whirlpool dishwasher that does not appear to be getting hot water. The washer water is cold initially and only seems to get warm once the heater in the base of the machine heats it. The hot water supply line does not get hot so I presume no water is being supplied. Is the water supposed to be hot at the start. If yes could this be caused be a faulty inlet valve and if so how can I check. The dishes are dirty especially on the top rack. Thanks for your help.
