Answers :

DWs always have a residual amount of wtare left in them after every wash cycle as a means to prevent the heater buring out when it is switched on. With the power and water supply turned off you can either ladle out the water with a small cup or siphon it out with a piece of hose or plastic tube.

Kenmore Ultra Wash 15812990 won't drain... I have already checked the connection between the dishwasher and the house drain line and the issue is above that. Someone suggested I clean out the food trap--but I don't know how to get to it.

I have a Whirlpool DU810SWLQ0 that will not drain. I've pulled the unit out, snaked the drain tube, pulled the motor/pump, and pipe assemblies, and cleaned the food trap, which I also removed. I've run the dishwasher with a bit of bleach, and the water will pump in, get processed by the agitator, and be heated. When the rinse cycle comes, dishes get covered in food, and are never clean. Waste water was being used for a clean rinse. I've run the dishwasher with the drain dangling in a bucket,

I have a Kitchen Aid KUDS03CTSS3 dishwasher. Dirty water is staying at the bottom and nothing comes out the drain hose during the entire cycle. The drain hose is looped above the kitchen P-trap, although for a time it wasn't. I use a wet vac to get the water out but there is still water below the fine filter. I thought if I could get the fine filter off, I could clean out the bottom as I think that it's full of crud down there that may be blocking things. I can't figure out how to get the l

SHU66C05 Unit will not drain at the end of a cycle. I can use the cacel/drain to manually get dishwasher to drain so don't think it is the motor/ drain pump. I replaced the air trap and the hose to the disposal, (neither appeared clogged) so I think it a problem with the swiching board.

How do I remove the main conduit on my GE Triton XL dishwasher? The cover inlet that traps food from going down the drain somehow came off and clogged up the drain. I got the drain cleared but cannot get the cover back on and need to move the main conduit (pipe connecting lower and upper arms) before I can get it on. Anyone know before I spend too much $ finding someone to fix it?

Kenmore Elite: - Stale smell from dishwasher, won't go away, lingers on dishes, glasses. I tried a vinegar remedy suggested by a diy site - it helps for a cycle or two, but the smell comes right back. Diy site suggested taking apart the dishwasher to see if there is food trapped: there always remains a little water at the end of each cycle - but I'm concerned about taking apart my dishwasher if there is another solution. Smell doesn't smell of food to me. What do you think? Hollie Smith

I have a Bosch SGE63E05UC dishwasher that keeps intermittently showing an "E:25" error code. Occasionally it will get all the way through a cycle without going into error, but more often than not it will error and stop. So far the main control module in the front panel and drain pump have been replaced and the problem persists. All hoses have been checked and are clean (unit is only 1 year old) and drains well, when it does drain. Any suggestions?

Cleaning My dishwasher always leaves behind these brown small peices of crime. I use about 1 tsp of dry poweder (the repair told me to last year) and that helped with all the streaks on the dishes. I clean the traps often, clean off my dishes to the point as I might as well just do them by hand, and still I get these food particles or whatever it is. We have a good working water softner. I get so frustrated and it seems like such a waste of time. Any suggestions? Teree

My dishwasher filter keeps getting plug up with large food particles. I take it apart and clean the screen. It works for a 2-3 -4 weeks before I have to do it again. There is a spinning fan on the screen. I'm wondering if this scrapper fan is working at all. If it was I think it would keep the small screen free from particles. The first thing that happens is the top cleaning arm stops working.' Thanks

Hi Judy. The only way to know for sure is to power up the fan independent of the machine and see if it still works. A GE triton dishwasher causes hammer noise when stops filling. The sink faucet works fine as do all the other faucets in the house. I cleaned all of the traps in the dishwasher. Because the sink works, I don't think it is a sink valve problem. I turned off the water to the house and drained the system, the air chambers should be good. Is there some component of the dishwasher that could be causing the noise? Would cleaning the pump help? If so, how would I do that?

The cause of the hammering noise, (slamming) is due to the water inlet valve on the Dishwasher (DW) shutting off abrutly once the DW reaches the proper amount of water.\015\012\015\012If this is an older DW, you might want to replace the ... GE Dishwashers

I have a Quiet Guard Standard model #587.151524 that is not cleaning the dishes. I took the bottom spray arm and screens out and cleaned them, (they had a heavy buildup of what I would say is calcium. The arm cleaned up fine but the screen still has some areas that will not allow the water to drain. I tried CLR and it helped but the screen is still probably 60% clogged. Do you think this is the problem getting the dishes clean and if so do you have any suggestions about how to clean the screen?

Dishwasher drain is hooked to a food disposer and until recently the unit worked fine. Last week following a cycle a couple of inches of water did not drain out. All food is removed from dishes, silverware, etc. prior to loading and the food trap in the bottom is completely clear. Hello, I have a CONSTRUCTA S9W1C dishwasher with aquastop. Unfortunately, I tried once to start it with the house water supply closed. Of course it stopped after a few seconds. After that time, when I start it, the water pumps works and after some seconds the cycle stops. It gets no water. I've checked and noticed that no water passes through the aquastop valve. The aqua stop has two wires that get into the dishwasher. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you for your time Alex

My Frigidaire Dishwasher FDB1050RES2 gets stuck in a rinse cycle. The light on the front will be lit "clean" but the bottom of the washer is full of water.
