Water in top drawer

\015 When i run the bottom drawer, the top drawer has excessive amount of dirty dishwater. the hoses were checked and were not kinked. this didn't always happen. what could be causing the water to back up into the top drawer? thanks for your help\015

Answers :

I am not a repairman but have installed several duel drawer dishwashers. Most dishwashers have a check valve preventing backflow. Water under pressure will always follow the path of least resistance and in your case it is going into the upper drawer. Be sure the drain is open and flowing easily under your sink whether that be the disposal or a TEE. It may help if the drain line is elevated as high as it can go under the sink just before it reaches the drain. How often do you use the top drawer? Perhaps run a cycle on the hottest cycle without dishes to attemt to clean or force through any contaminants in the check valve through into the drain. Hope this helps, Ken

I have the two drawer dishwasher. It's about 10 years old. The top drawer continues to work OK but for the last three attempts when I run the bottom drawer water gets out into the drip pan below and gives the F1 signal. I can dry the drip pan out and clear the F1 signal so the top drawer works. But running the bottom drawer causes water to leak again with the resultant F1 signal. There is very little water in the bottom drawer (just a little in the filter bowl) so I think the pump is pumping

Water is leaking from the top of the top drawer, mainly on the right side of the top drawer. Is there an adjustment to raise the tub so that it would have an even seal to prevent the water from leaking. I noticed that the top drawer has a bigger gap on the right side or has more give-in/movemenet when the tub is lifted compare to the left side. This casue the flooding error at the end of the washing cycle.

I have had similar problems with my DD603SS. The leakage leads to the water detection in the bottom of the unit and the resulting F1 error. The movement and height of the lid is controlled by the lid actuators. There is one on each sidewall. The draw ... Fisher and Paykel 23 in. DD-603SS Built-in Dishwasher

Previously, I had this code and followed the instructions found here and resolved the problem (a foreign object had blocked the drain). I have the two drawer model dish-drawer system. In the past the top seal leaked and since has been replaced with a new seal. Worked well for several years after but then the top drawer quit running. So we started to use the bottom drawer. That was fine for awhile althought it would pump waste water into the top drawer. Now neither drawer will work. The bottom drawer starts up and shuts down. I pulled the lower drawer and it is dry.

We have a Fisher& Paykel dishwasher with 2 drawers -- one on top of the other. Model DD603. The bottom drawer works fine. But the top drawer is not working properly -- it repeatedly stops in the middle of the cycle and there is water left in the drawer. Previously when this happened, we called a repairman; he removed the top drawer from the machine, said it was "off track", flipped some lever, and put the drawer back. He seemed a little embarrassed by having to charge for a service call for

How do I adjust top drawer height? The seal around top drawer appears to be leaking and there is a lot of dried residue around the top edge of the drawer. Water appears to be leaking from the top.

We just purchased a used Fisher and Paykel DS 603-i. After installing and running the normal cycle there was a lot of water left on the bottom of each drawer. The top drawer of my fisher paykel dishwasher stops during the cycle and shows an icon of a tap with a line threw it (assume that means no or low water pressure). the bottom works fine so I assume water pressure is not the issue; is there a sensor that could be bad? Also, I did switch the controllers between drawers (good instructions on the fisherpaykelparts.net website) but the problem stayed with the drawer, ruling out the controller.
