GU980 dishwasher I have a buzzing sound when the washer is in drain mode. The manual indicates there might be something in the Power Clean Filter, and that it will go away when the object grinds up. I called Whirpool, and they said the same, and to run for 2-3 cycles to make go away. 2-3 cyles later, noise is still there. I noticed a nub off the rack that looks like an end peice of metal broke off from rust. My guess is it's stuck in the PCF, and will not grind up. I removed the nut, lower spray

Loud grinding noise sounds like something small and hard is getting caught in some kind of rotary. The sound comes from underneath the dishwasher at or near the motor. I screwed the big circular plastic filter on the bottom of the inside of the dishwasher, but found no significant debrie. It did not resolve the problem.

When I started it, it made a loud grinding sound which continued whenever it was actually washing/rinsing. It was washing and rinsing the dishes ok. Eventually I didn't hear anymore grinding but the dishes had not been washed or rinsed. The detergent cup was open and the detergent spilled down the door. I ran it again and could hear the pump running. It ran through the cycles but the water was not being circulated. I suspect that something is caught in the disposer blade or something and is bloc

Dishwasher is making a loud grinding noise when it's started. Doesn't matter the cycle choice; the cycle starts as normal then once started up starts making a sort of grinding noise as the water is pulsing, like something is stuck or blocking the "push" of water. I couldn't see anything stuck in the bottom - any thoughts before I call a repair person? I've never owned a dishwasher before - maybe there's a basic drain/blockage thing I should check out first? And, any recommendations for repair

My kenmore/whirlpool dishwasher makes a noise, sort of a grinding noise, throughout most of the cycle. I have removed the pump and motor thinking that their might be something in the pump, but there is nothing there. My guess is that the motor is making the noise, but I do not know how to tell other than by replacing the motor and seeing if the noise goes away.

Not getting enough water flow into the dishwasher, suspect that a filter is clogged due to recent work on the waterline in the kitchen sink. Need to know where the filter might be located (on the dishwasher or on the intake valve before the connection to the dishwasher hose)? Also would I need to disconnect the water supply to pull out the dishwasher for access to such a filter.

You didn't specify a brand but most dishwashers don't have a water "filter." They may have an inlet screen at the water valve, which is typically located under the dishwasher. Generally, the lower front panel will have to be removed and you should ... Dishwashers

Washer is making grinding noise after start. I found little plastic pieces in the filter in top washer drain. Cleaned it all out including the well which turns the rotating sprayer on. Less noise but it was not eliminated. Is it possible that the drain pump is making the noise? If so how do I get a repair manual to take the pump out and replace it?

I have a portable Sears dishwasher model # 66517769k600. It makes grinding noises when empying out the water, then stops. Sounds like maybe something is jaming the inpeller blades on the pump that removes the water as Water is left in dishwasher. It will restart in about 15 mins , run for 15 to 20 sec and stop again with same noises. What needs to be done to fix this issue? Approximate cost of part? Thanks in Advance, Chris

I just moved into a house that has a Maytag Quiet 300 dishwasher. After about 2 weeks, I'm hearing a VERY loud, almost grinding noise about 6-7 minutes into the wash cycle, then again near the end of the wash cycle. It sounds like a motor thing and I'm hoping to avoid a repair bill right now, the cost of the move wiped us out. Is this something that I can fix, and if not, will continuing to run the dishwasher with the noise kill it?

I have an LG 1415M dishwasher and it is making an extremely loud noise. It's that loud when it gets to a certain part of the cycle that it is deafening. It starts to fill with water and then I presume when it starts to wash it makes this grinding loud noise. We have cleaned the filters as recommended in manual.

My Maytag MDBH965AWW Legacy Series 300 is making a loud grinding noise. I took off the lower spray arm and other parts below it to see if something was lodged near the chopper blade.
