Having problems with your KitchenAid Architect? II S SERIES KUDS03FT Stainless Steel Built-in Dishwasher ?

Dishwasher leaking We bought our dishwasher in Sep/07, it was fine for a year, then started leaking out the bottom of the door on the left. We had the seal on the door replaced (didn't work) and then the door gasket replaced. That worked for less than a year, now it is leaking again in the same place. What could be going on? Have already put $400.00 repairs into this machine and am reluctant to put more money in to have it break again the same way. What do you suggest?

Answers :

This sounds like a hinge problem to start with.
\015\012
\015\012Test the seal by dragging a strip of paper through it with door closed. Probably that left hinge isn't holding door close enough which was probably the original cause. As seal dries out a bit then will leak.
\015\012
\015\012At this point I would investigate the hinge possibility AND if possible a DIY fix. It may be loose mounting screws or take a little shim to hold the left corner tighter. I would not waste money for a service call.
\015\012
\015\012You probably might need to release the door balance springs accessable under the toe kick area while working on the door. Possibly a hinge is bent.
\015\012
\015\012You might do as they do in the auto industry when a door doesn't fit... basically put forces on it to bend it a bit. In your case it would be to distribute the load and support the door when horizontal about 6 inches out from the left hinge and then bend the end of the door down to bend the hinge mounts slightly..
\015\012
\015\012Then check the seal clearance with the strip of paper as you do with a refigerator seal by cloosing on a strip of paper and dragging the strip to see if it is gripped.

Door leak The dishwasher is 2 and half year old and is randomly leaking for at least one year or even more. The leak originally occurred at both lower ends of the door, close to the hinges. The leak was about one liter and the door panel sound insulation soaked with water. After door panel was removed, the leak location was identified at both ends of the lower door gasket. The outside part of the U-shaped gasket was filled with water, and eventually water was spilled on the floor. The leak can g

I have an LG LDF6810ST dishwasher that has a leak on the bottom right hand side of the door. It appears to be leaking from inside the door itself. The dishwasher is 2 years old. I checked the inlet water to make sure connections were not leaking and they were not. I live in a rural part of Alaska so after talking with the LG help desk I'm pretty much on my own. Any ideas?

Our Phillips SL2000 dishwasher (~20 years old?) has a leak from the door right hand bottom end when its splashing. The seals appear to be OK to touch and slightly pressing the door inwards does not reduce the leak. What could be the reason and is it worth repairing? The inside looks really good for its age and I am trying to extend its life at least a few years with minimal cost. Please advise.

Our KitchenAid KUDS011JBS1 dishwasher sometimes leaks water on our kitchen floor. It seems to drip from the bottom edge of the door onto the floor. It's not a huge amount of water, but is enough to be a concern... it leaves a small puddle on the floor. What should I check and how do I fix this? I'm hoping it's an inexpensive and easy fix. Upon starting new cycle the pump turns on for a few short seconds, then off, then after a couple minutes it goes on again for a few seconds then off, then later in the cycle it does stay on for a longer period of time. In conjuntion with this intermitent problem it has begun leaking out the bottom of the front door. I have checked drain line, check valve, strainer/screen and vent in the door. I assume it is an electrical issue?
