Which dishwashere auto resume wash cycle when door is closed?

\015 Do any of the new dish washers these days automatically resume the cycle after opening and closing the door? In other words, if you start a wash cycle, open the door to add an item, and then close the door, our new Kitchen Aide won't automatically resume without pressing the "Start/Resume" button. Our old Kenmore would resumes as soon as the door was shut. But this new one won't. If a kid opens the door, and then shuts it but forgets to push the "Start/Resume" button the dishes just sit there dirty. \015\012\015\012Which models have this feature?\015\012Thanks.\015

All the tall tub dishwashers made by Whirlpool (inc. Kenmore and Kithcenaid) must have the start button pressed after adding a dish. If the start button control light is blinking, you must press start. On those models with buttons on the top of the door you must, in addition, close the door within aprox 5 seconds after pushing start. Hope this helps. Ken

At the end of the cycle the arrow = clean and the clicking sound is there. I opened the washer door for about 1 minute noted the soap containers are empty, dishes clean, machine still hot/steamy. Closed the washer door and the clicking sound resumes. Please advise.

My soap cap remains in the closed position at all times. The clasp mechanism works fine, if I cycle through with the door open I can see and hear the catch release when it should. But the door remains closed at all times. I leave it open to run, and sometimes it's closed when the wash cycle finishes! Is there an easy way to take the cap off and clean it? Or do I need to WD-40 around it?
