Having problems with your KitchenAid Dishwashers ?

My Kitchen Aid KUDS01FLSS2 dishwasher does not spray water thru the wash arms nor do they seem to turn. Additionally, one of the the bottom arms hits the "cap, internal rear feed" where it clips to "feed tube assembly" when rotated by hand. The spray arm assembly appears true on visual examination. The unit fills, cycles and pumps out in an apparent normal way. While on this site a while back I was advised to clean the unit and referred to a downloadable repair manual that was, in fact, not

The fact that "one of the the bottom arms hits the "cap, internal rear feed" where it clips to "feed tube assembly" would suggest a tubing problem. However there are more faults that will result in no spray. Testing in this case can become quite complicate. I suggest calling a technician to perform testing with power on and with door switch jumped.

First inspect the tubing going to the spray arm. If there is a leak the water will fall back inside the tub and there will be no spraying. Use the diagram below to check that all parts are in place. Click on the picture to enlarge:

If there is no leak, then the pump may be not working. A technician can see if the pump is working or if there is a leak by jumping the door switch and opening the door a bit to observe the situation.

You can access the pump hose and check that there is no blockage in the hose connected to the pump, as this may result in no spray.

Even if I think that the problem is either tubing or impeller pump, there are more faults that may result in no spray, I will list them below:

Underfilling: If the machine is underfilling the pump may not catch enough water and won't spray. Check float switch. if there is water in the overfill system, empty the water.

Thermostat. The machine will start recirculating when the thermistor opens. Check hot inlet and test the Thermistor reading impedance with a multimeter. If thermistor does not open in hot water or it is open at room, then the thermistor must be replaced.Thermistor open means that the multimeter shows infinite Ohms when you touch the thermistor contacts with multi-meter probes.

Clogged arms or orifices: The spray arms, ducts or orifices are blocked. This is checked taking apart and cleaning the parts in the two diagrams above.

Main control board: I don't think this is the case. The main control module is replaced when there is no other explanation for the fault.

Start checking from spray arms. Ensure that the pump is working, and check the overfill system. Disconnect power before performing any test.

Here all parts and diagrams for your appliance.

I have a 13 year old Siemens SE64630GB. It isn't cleaning items in the upper basket and I believe it's due to lack of water pressure in the upper spray arm leading to little or no rotation of the arm. Have cleaned out the drainage pump and removed and cleaned both the water feed pipe to the upper arm (a lot of gunk in there) and the spray arm itself (which also had blocked nozzles) - no apparent blockages now. Could there be a blockage in the circulation pump and if so how do I access this pump

Kenmore (Whirlpool) 655 1589910 Dishwasher. Fills with water, motor makes horrible noise (buzzing / loud hum). Dishes do not wash and there is no evidence that any water pumped up to the spray arms. Noticed dishes on top shelf not entirely clean. Ran machine empty and opened many times during wash. Noticed that Lower Spray Arm works as expected, but Middle Spray Arm turns only 1/8 or less, then Lower Arm spins again. Schematic with Use and Care manual just says pump motor switches from one to the other in certain cycles, but I don't see this happening. Looked for obstructions to water flow and pressure seems normal. Is control for this function part of the pump, or in the control panel?

I have disassembled and cleaned the 3rd level , upper and lower spray/wash arm assemblies as well as the feed tube assemble. These were not blocked or glogged. Dishwasher fills with hot water. Float OK - water feed stops when full. Motor humms but no water spray (in all opperating modes). Cancel selection (with cancel button) and close the door. The water drains then the unit shuts off. Water feed OK. Drain Cycle OK. Looks like spray pump hung but do not know. Cannot find a reset button (as with disposal) or way to free hung pump motor. I did see glass pieces in the drain. Possibly a small piece hanging the motor.

If you found broken glass inside the machine some has likely migrated to the pump. about the only way to fix that issue is to remove the pump and either replace it or disassemble it and clean it out. ... KitchenAid 24 in. KUDP01FL Built-in Dishwasher

My Kitchen Aid KUDS01DJSS0 seems to have water going to the upper spray arm (I see water coming out of the unit just beneath the upper rack), but the pressure doesn't seem to be high enough to clean the upper rack. Hi, ^The GE dishwasher (PDW788000SS) will not fill in either "rinse only" or "normal wash" modes. The control panel lights up with all functions. After selecting rinse only or normal wash and pressing/holding the start/reset button down for several seconds to reset the unit the drain pump comes on for approx 90 seconds as advertised. Checked the float switch and there is no continuity in any position of the little switch arm and the switch arm has no spring on it. Seems like this is a faile
