Having problems with your KitchenAid KUDR01TJ Dishwasher ?

I have a 7 yr old KitchenAid undercounter dishwasher that was working fine, then it suddenly appeared to lose power: no lights and no response when buttons pressed. The circuit breaker is not the problem. Any idea what might be wrong?

\015\012When you say that the circuit breaker is not the problem, are you sure you are getting power to the receptacle that supplies power to teh dishwasher ? Just because the breaker in your house does not appear to be tripped does not mean that you have power getting to the dishwasher itself. You need to check to see that you are actually getting AC power delivered to the dishwasher as your first course of action. There are normally two methods of supplying power to these.. the more recent method is to plug the dishawher into a receptacle that is dedicated for that and is normally located in the sink base cabinet..so if you have an outlet there, you can try plugging in a lamp or radio toit to verify you have power there.. Older techniques for supplying AC power to dishwashers usually require the removal of the toekick panel on the front of the dishasher to gain access to a junction box where the wires are joined. Do not attempt to check these wires unless you or someone you know is familiar with safe handling electrical systems like this ..but in general... you would need to verify that the black wire has 120VAC on it ... If you aren't trained in these areas, get someone who is... Hope that helps you...
Hey Rickzilla,

\015\012My kitchenaid showed the same symptoms. Following your direction, I removed the toekick and confirmed the wires had power. I then killed the breaker, removed the marrets and remade their connections. Put it back together, turned on the breaker and everything is working now. Must have been bad connections. Thanks for the tips! I had no idea the electrical was behind the toekick (I was getting ready to try and pull the thing out from under the counter).
