Removing the detergent dispenser

\015 The small plastic blue piece that holds the detergent dispenser closed has snapped off. I have to replace the entire dispenser assembly ($160 part ); how does the dispenser assembly come off? I don't see any screws?\015

Answers :

Tell Kitchenaid to include an extra little blue thing and charge $3.00 for it
I have the same problem--mine is about 10 years old. To disassemble, looks like you will need to disassemble the complete door--screws around the inside edge of the door. At that price for a replacement dispenser, I will either try to fix or replace the blue arm, or replace the dishwasher. I don't believe its worth putting that kind of money in an old dishwasher.

To remove the dispenser is not a 30 second job. You have to remove the door front with a T20 (torx) screwdriver (don't forget the 2 screws in the middle of the door at the bottom) Then you can get to the screws that hold the dispenser in place. Make ... Asko 24 in. D3350 Dishwasher

Like so many others, I am experiencing a problem with my GE dishwasher's smartdispense. I have ALWAYS used the SAME detergent(Cascade Complete)and still have the gumming-up issue. I noticed that the dishes were not getting clean and when I opened the smartdispense cover I could see that the detergent was gelled. Spent the better part of 2 hours trying to remove as much gunk out of the dispenser as I could with the help of a plumbers flexible plastic drain cleaning tool. This really angers me as

The detergent dispenser door on my AEG favorit 86070vi will not spring open. I found a small coil spring on the floor and suspect that it was involved with the opening function. The spring has one arm approx 10 mm long, the other is about 2 mm and the coil (body) is about 10 mm. Hope you can help

It seems we are having issues with our soap dispenser opening correctly. The last couple times there has been a solid block of detergent sitting in the dispenser when the cycle is finished. We have been keeping our detergent in the cupboard, not under the sink where it could get too moist. We then ran a cycle with a liguid detergent, and it was barely touched. There was gooey liquid all over the place when the cycle was done. A change on the settings to "Heavy Wash" left detergent residue on

When my dishwasher completes its cycle, there is powdered detergent left in the dispenser and the dishes aren't as clean as they use to be. This started happening after I ran a HI TEMP WASH with a SANI RINSE cycle. I'm thinking that either the detergent dispenser door is opening late or the water is not getting hot enough. To check the dispenser door, I left the door open and just poured powder into the dispenser compartment. This did not improve the cleaning.

Since purchasing my dishwasher last year I've constantly had intermittent problems regarding the detergent dispenser. It often does not open and therefore does not release the detergent into the wash...the detergent gets damp inside the dispenser and sticks....it often tumbles out when I open the dishwasher door at the end of the cycle.
