Having problems with your Maytag 24 in. PDB1420 Built-in Dishwasher ?

My Maytag Performa recently stopped washing the food off the dishes. It fills and drains like it is supposed to, but seems to not have the right pressure.

Answers :

Dishwasher doesnt clean the dishes anymore wondering if the arm is not working properly?? Found a weight with a hook on it wondering if this is causing the problem?
Before drawing any serious conclusions check wash arms for blockage in spray holes, < possibly slowing delivery of water pressure > it can be calcium from hard water.

I have a Kitchen Aid Superba KUDS24SEBS1. The inlet water pressure is good and the dishwasher fills and starts the wash cycle, however, after the initial spray of water, it seems that all of the water drains out and there is nothing left to continue the cycle and wash the dishes. It's like it's not able to fill up enough to wash the dishes.

Good afternoon - I have a Whirlpool model LSR7233EQ0 washer. The washer works fine in regards to draining, filling, lower agitator works...however, the top agitator does not engage and almost sounds like grinding. However (I know you are not supposed to do this), when the machine is in the wash cycle, I push sideways on the top of the agitator and it then does engage and agitate. When I release pressure, the top agitator does not work. Thanks for your help, Michael

Whirlpool uses a split agitator design. The upper portion is called the auger, while the bottom is called the agitator. Between these components is a agitator cam assembly. This problem is commonly caused by worn agitator dogs or the agitator cam ass ... Dishwashers

Bosch dishwasher SHX46A05UC/40 is making noise when draining. I have cleaned the screen and hose back to the drain and removed all debris. So it seem to be the 'drain pump'. But replacing it - now that seem complex - is it? Looks like I would have to stand the DW on its head and remove the base and then replace the pump. Anyone know if I am on the right track? Could it be something else?

My dishwasher is brand new Model FDB1502RGS0. I used it for the first time today. It seemed to be cleaning for a very long time. It was up to 2 hours and I had to leave so I turned it off. How long should it take. That seems like an awfully long time. I kept waiting for the drying mode to start and it sounded like it kept filling up and emptying. Does this sound right? Please advise asap.

Dishwasher wont fill with water. just before it stopped filling i was turning the dial (a lot) between the wash cycles back and forth to attempt to get it to fill and drain (I didn't let it go through a cycle). We also removed the hose from the machine as it had split and replaced it and we had the machine tilted on it's side. the dial still clicks round but it sounds like the pump is going and it doesn't seem to be filling with water. I have a Husky gasoline pressure washer. The honda motor starts but stalls because the pressure by-pass (not the right term) doesn't seem to open and builds up pressure. I haven't tried to remove any parts yet. I think grit has got in but don't know for sure. The pump looks pretty simple and the part I want to remove for cleaning looks like a plastic hexagon nob. Will this access the by-pass or is it something else.

I think you're right about the knob, but try this:Open the water to the washer. Leave the line open, and hold the trigger down to get all of the air out of the supply and discharge lines. While still holding the trigger down on the spray gun, ... Pressure Washers

Maytag mdb7100awb dishwasher is leaking from the bottom right corner. starts to leak almost immediately upon starting it. I then opened it and found that the entire tub is filled with water, looks like it is overfilled. I wonder whether it is overfilling and there might be a clog in the drain or if it's the seal/gasket? where are the drains that i need to check for blockage?

My GE Nautilus DW doesn't fully drain. When it is drained as much as it will it leaves water in the sump at the rear right. If you run the pump at that point, it sucks water out of the sump, but when you open the door and the pump stops water flows back into it. It seems like there is a check valve that isn't working. I have cleaned the sump and the screen which runs accross the rear. I also have taken the plunger out and cleaned it. Then I took the housing for the plugner off the bottom. I don'

Soap feed The soap feed hose on my Karcher 2650 does not suck up the soap into the washer. I pulled off the connector piece that the hose is connected to. I can blow through the hose. There is a little metal finger thing that you can tell pushes up into place when the water pressure is high. It seems like it is supposed to drop down and allow some soap through when the water is running. I found a loose(attached to nothing) gasket, looks like a little donut. It was just free floating in t

I have a Delonghi dishwasher model no. DW67S/W which is coming up with the E4 message. I had this once before and was told to turn it off and on and it righted itself. This time however I used the next bit of advice. I took everything out including the salt cap thing, tipped it on its side and drained all the water out, reconnected the hoses and when I turned it back on it seemed fine....no E4 messaage straight away. It drained out for a while and then starting filling. It has overfilled again

My dishwasher doesn't seem to fill with water. The heat cycle keeps running and never shuts off. I have discovered that there was some hard water buildup in the drain. I cleaned that out and I still have the same problem. It almost seems like it is not completing a cycle and it won't reset.

We have a Sears Ultra Wash III dishwasher, model 665.1677993, bought in October, 1995. It is not filling with enough water to get the dishes clean. I took the water valve out and looked at it and it seems okay. It doesn't look like the valve is opening all the way - just my guess. A small stream of water comes out with good pressure, but it is a small stream. I can't find any screens or filters in the water line coming in. The fill cycle lasts only about a minute. Is that adequate? Steve

Bosch Integra SHU 9955US/12 - when we start wash cycle, the detergent dispenses and the tub fills with water, but the wash cycle never starts (never spins spray bars). Seems like timer is counting down, though, but doesn't start "washing". After waiting awhile, we are able to use the "Cancel/Drain" mode to drain the water. The drain filter in the bottom of the tub is clean.

I have Frigidaire model FDB130RGS3. This seems like a pretty cheap dishwasher that is provided by my management company. This is third dishwasher I've had in this apartment. Frigidaire fdb1500lsfo built in dishwasher. Have had for maybe 3 years. I push the start button, and it starts like usual, filling the tub with water. Kenmore Dishwasher model 665.1675592 doesn't seem to wash as well as it used to. Seems to have a low water level. Filler valve works, allows water in, but never seems to fill enough. No spray reaches top shelf, I think due to insufficient water level. It's like the timer doesn't stay on long enough for it to fill. Also cycle time seems WAY up, but if the timer is slow, how does it time out filling so fast? Looks like it would be slow all the time. Suggestions?

Whirlpool dishwasher doesn't seem to fill with enough water despite good water pressure. Therefore, pump sounds like it is cycling from pumping water for about 2 seconds to going dry for 2 seconds to pumping water for 2 seconds to going dry for 2 seconds, etc. Spray arms rotate only for the 2 seconds when pump is actually pumping water. Dishes do not get clean.

Hi, ^The GE dishwasher (PDW788000SS) will not fill in either "rinse only" or "normal wash" modes. The control panel lights up with all functions. After selecting rinse only or normal wash and pressing/holding the start/reset button down for several seconds to reset the unit the drain pump comes on for approx 90 seconds as advertised. Checked the float switch and there is no continuity in any position of the little switch arm and the switch arm has no spring on it. Seems like this is a faile
