Main tub seal

\015\012\015\012\015\012Main tub seal\015\012\015\012Note… If the main motor of your dishwasher is mounted vertically, beneath the center bottom of the dishwasher, the following instructions probably apply to you. But if your motor is mounted horizontally, the pump isn't serviceable--you need to replace the entire pump and motor assembly.

The main tub seal is beneath the drain impeller. It prevents the water in the dishwasher from leaking out near the shaft of the motor. To get to the seal, which is inside the dishwasher, remove the:

  • Spray arm


    • \015\012
  • Spray arm support


    • \015\012
  • Wash/drain impellers


Then pry the seal out of its housing and replace it.

\015\012\015\012\015\012Door gasket or seal\015\012\015\012Over time, door gaskets and seals harden and lose their ability to seal properly. You can't repair the seals. You need to replace them if they've begun to leak. 

\015\012\015\012\015\012Water-inlet valve\015\012\015\012The water-inlet valve, itself, seldom leaks. But, the water-supply line from the house and the rubber tube leading from the valve to the inside of the dishwasher may leak. Tighten or repair/replace these as necessary.

The water-inlet valve could mechanically stick open. When that happens, the water continues to flow into the dishwasher, which then floods your kitchen. Turn off the water supply to the dishwasher, and replace the valve.

\015\012\015\012\015\012Hoses\015\012\015\012Behind the lower access panel on your dishwasher are several rubber or plastic hoses. If the leak appears at a connection, try a new clamp. If that doesn't work, replace the hose.

It isn't cleaning items in the upper basket and I believe it's due to lack of water pressure in the upper spray arm leading to little or no rotation of the arm. I am not getting any water out of the bottom spray arm in my bosch SGS47E02GB35 dishwasher. I have cleaned out the plastic pipe assembly on the left hand side of the machine and the plastic tubes that sit to the right of the pipes. My dishwasher is not working properly, i have cleaned all the filters and spray arms, but still have food partials all over dishes. I did use a knife to hold down door latch so i could see what was happening when the dishwasher is working. We are having a problem with our LG Dishwasher. The machine is washing for about half an hour and then will stop and report an E1 error. According to the user manual this means "Water leakage in Hose connection" or "Water is leaked by damages". We have checked the diswasher's water connections and can't see any water leaking out. I think I need to check the water pump/motor on my Bosch SHU43C dishwasher. It seems the water enters at the start of the wash cycle but then there is silence through the remainder of the cycles. Water will not spray. The drain appears to work ok to drain most of the water out. I have the washer out and upside down. Any hints on removing the base to get access to the pump? Should AI be looking at the control panel also for a fault? (the cycles seem to count down ok)
