Having problems with your Whirlpool 24 in. DU1100XTP Built-in Dishwasher ?

I replaced a disposal and now when I run the washer cycle the used water shoots out the drain that is on top of the sink. It didn't shoot out that drain while the old disposal was working and the dishes were getting just as clean. Should I be worried?

Answers :

The new disposer has a plug inside the dishwasher nipple that you must knock out. The dishwasher hose nipple is plugged so water won't leak out if you don't have a dishwasher connected. You must take a flathead screwdrivers and knock out the plug inside the nipple with a hammer or something. Make sure you don't leave the plug inside! The air gap is designed to prevent water from siphoning back into the dishwasher. With the disposal's drain connection blocked, the water exits through the air gap!

My tappan dishwasher is only 1 1/2 yr old and its not getting at least 1/2 of dishes clean. We have tried everything from changing to liquid soap, increasing water pressure at meter, not using while washing clothes. We used a dishwasher cleaner to remove calcium, and run hot water in sink before using. We know the wand, pump and drain are working. It is model TDB210RFB5 with 1.1A motor. Is the motor too small to clean dishes? I wish I could get my money back or exchange for an upgrade. Thanks!

Glasses int he top rack of my kitchenaid dishwasher don;t get clean. they finish the run spotted and covered in what looks like baked on dirty dishwater. dishes in the lower rack look ok, but the silverware is always dirty, too. i figure it's one of two things - either the top sprayer isn't working, or the machines doesn't drain the dirty water well enough. or maybe it's something else - cycle regulator? the machine is about 4 years old. thanks

If you have hard water, glasses can look spotted and cloudy even after cleaning. Sometimes changing the dishwasher detergent can help. I have a Viking dishwasher made by Asko. It is less than 6 months old. Today I had a problem with my disposal (water not draining through it and leaking under the sink) and ran the dishwasher, which cleaned/dried the dishes fine. BUT, since the water was not properly draining from the disposal, apparently the dishwasher was not draining properly either. A repairman came to fix the disposal before I knew about the dishwasher issue. Now, the dishwasher won't turn off "draining mode" - button pu

I have a Bosch dishwasher that was working just fine until I spilled a bag of uncooked pasta. I sent the pasta down the drain and ran the garbage disposal, subsequently clogging the pipes. I had to get a plumber to fix the drains, but he wouldn't unclog the dishwasher. I have tried myself to go under the sink and drain some hoses, but it didn't work. I also put some baking soda and vinegar into the drain, but no luck. What can I do?

It may simply be where the dishwasher drain attaches to your garbage disposal. There should be a hose clamp and can easily be taken off. If the clog's not right at the connection, chances are it's far. If there is an air gap, it will be within a f ... Bosch 24 in. SHU66C05 Stainless Steel Built-in Dishwasher

Dishwasher drain is hooked to a food disposer and until recently the unit worked fine. Last week following a cycle a couple of inches of water did not drain out. All food is removed from dishes, silverware, etc. prior to loading and the food trap in the bottom is completely clear. I ran the unit empty through a Lightwash cycle and afterwards the water level (that which didn't drain out) looked to be the same as before. The dishwasher is run 2-3 times weekly whereas the food disposal is

After replacing my garbage disposal, my dishwashr stopped working. I did forget to remove the stop plug from the disposal unit. But even after doing this the unit still does not work. I have a Whirlpool Dishwasher DU1345XTVB about 5 years old. It functions perfectly but is not cleaning the dishes well particularly the top rack. There are a few things to do. The water temperature is a big contributor, in dishes not getting clean. Another is the type of detergent being used. Liquid dishwasher detergent with water softeners and a drying agent will help loosen food too. If ... Dishwashers

My bosh dishwasher SHX55M06UC/46 will not drain. A new disposal was put in and the dishwasher drain plug was not punched out and the dishwasher was ran that way. Now it just holds water in the bottom. I've tried resetting or canceling the wash cycle but that doesn't work and the washing cycle works fine. I'm hoping there is a reset or a safety for the pump if it gets clogged.

Kitchen Aid Dishwasher KUDR24SEBLO does not drain 100%. I have removed the drain hose and chcked the sink P-Trap, [it drains thru the garbage disposer]. Unit is 10 years old, otherwise works fine. I am having difficulty removing the impeller and items above the pump to see if it is clogged. Do you think I have a partially clogged pump or a timer issue that prevents the pump from completely emptying the bottom of the dishwasher?
