Having problems with your Whirlpool 24 in. DU1100XTP Built-in Dishwasher ?

Water leak My model is a GU2400XTPB1 The tub of diswasher has small hole where a screw is mounted on bottom of dishwasher. Leak is severe during cycle. I have tried epoxy but it will only hold up for a few washes. Will anyhing seal the leak and hold up? The dishwasher is only 2 years old..

Answers :

Mine also started leaking. Element also too hot. Mine has a 20 year warrenty on the tub (which I was NOT aware of) Repairman came today and the whole tub unit and element will be fixed for free! Look in your whirlpool instruction book to see if yours is warrentied. BTW, my dishwasher is only three years old.
I've had the exact same problem with our Kenmore Quiet Guard 3, which apparently was manufactured by Whirlpool. The small hole is even in the same spot as described in the Whirlpool service bulletin (figure 13):

http://www.servicematters.com/dm_safety/8178502a.pdf

I removed the four screws holding the metal bracket underneath, sealed the hole with silicon, and replaced the three screws that were still functional (the one was stuck in the plastic piece that had broken off.) So far so good... One week later and no leaks so far.

Dishwasher leaking my GE Natulus dishwasher is leaking from the bottom seal, Is the two pieces that are at the very bottom that hold the motor where the seal is? I'm not seeing a seal. I have a 4 year old Maytag MDBH945AWW and the panel lights come on and I can select cycles... but the dishwasher wont start. I tried holding the start cancel button, tried turning the breaker off for a couple of hours, took the inner panel off the door and checked the latch, but its still wont start. Any other suggestions? If it needs a new control panel its probably better to just get a new similar dishwasher for $300, correct?

Our Phillips SL2000 dishwasher (~20 years old?) has a leak from the door right hand bottom end when its splashing. The seals appear to be OK to touch and slightly pressing the door inwards does not reduce the leak. What could be the reason and is it worth repairing? The inside looks really good for its age and I am trying to extend its life at least a few years with minimal cost. Please advise.

After working perfectly for years, I came home yesterday and the dishwasher had gone through it's whole cycle (including drying) but the bottom was fully filled with water. I emptied the dishwasher and tried to put it through a "rinse and hold" cycle to see if it would drain, but that didn't work. I pulled out the filter--it's clean as a whistle. Any thoughts? I have an old Bauknecht dishwasher GSF 3160 S that a friend gave us 10 years ago. It was stored for that time, and now if I try to use it, it leaks out through the bottom and floods the kitchen. I would like to know 1) is it worth fixing from the point of view of how energy/water efficient (or inefficient) an old dishwasher is - if you know the specs for this particular machine, and 2) what needs to be changed if it is worthwhile fixing. I don't know what else might not work, because I only pu

My trusty Bosch s510 Dishwasher which has been going strong for about 17 years (at least) has just decided not to empty itself. I noticed the bottom was full of water after a wash. I emptied all the water out by hand and presuming there is a blockage in the drain tried using a plunger to unblock it. I have since put it through another cycle and half way through water started leaking out of the front. At the end of the cycle the bottom of the dishwasher was again full of hot 'soapy' water. Dishwasher leaking We bought our dishwasher in Sep/07, it was fine for a year, then started leaking out the bottom of the door on the left. We had the seal on the door replaced (didn't work) and then the door gasket replaced. That worked for less than a year, now it is leaking again in the same place. What could be going on? Have already put $400.00 repairs into this machine and am reluctant to put more money in to have it break again the same way. What do you suggest?

Door leak The dishwasher is 2 and half year old and is randomly leaking for at least one year or even more. The leak originally occurred at both lower ends of the door, close to the hinges. The leak was about one liter and the door panel sound insulation soaked with water. After door panel was removed, the leak location was identified at both ends of the lower door gasket. The outside part of the U-shaped gasket was filled with water, and eventually water was spilled on the floor. The leak can g
