Having problems with your Whirlpool 24 in. GU1500XTLS Stainless Steel Built-in Dishwasher ?

Extremely long cycle

\015 I have a Whirlpool diswasher model GU1800XTLS3, serial # FR1011670 that is taking an extremely long time to complete its cycle. For instance, on normal wash using air dry, it takes up to 3 hrs from the time it is turned on. I have noticed that during the wash phase it sits on the same count-down minute for 5 to 10 minutes at a time with the sensing & water heating lights on. The unit is quite a ways from the water heater and it takes a minute or two for hot water to reach the adjacent sink faucet. Additional note - the drying coil is currently broken but the unit is set for air dry.\015

Answers :

The drying coil that is broken also heats the water during the wash and rinsing phase. Right now it is waiting for the water to heat up, that's why it's pausing. Replace broken heater, they are relatively cheap and can be gotten at repair clinic.com.

Sounds like the heater inside the dishwasher is not working. The machine is trying to get the water up to a preset temperature, probably in the neighborhood of 140 degrees. That is one of the things that it is sensing. After the machine fi ... Dishwashers

Frigidaire dishwasher won't end cycle - will run on and on for hours. Sometimes it cycles through, usually it just endlessly washes and rinses. I have to CANCEL the cycle, which causes the dishwasher to empty and run a few RINSE ONLY cycles (which are consistent, cycle time wise) to rinse the soap off of the dishes. Also, the door for the soap seems to stick - how long into the cycle before the soap door should open? Also, does opening the washer during it's cycle (to add more dishes) change or

I would say the resettable thermostat has failed. There is a thermostat which senses the water temperature, and when it fails, it causes the dishwasher to run constant. We have a Bosch SHE45M06UC/50 dishwasher that is acting a bit nutty, first of all the timers are all wrong, mostly too short for what the manual says except the quick cycle and it is too long. There is on some cycles a very long delay before it begins to fill and it seems to alternate between pumping and running randomly

I used the "rinse only" cycle on the dishwasher a little while ago. I've never used this cycle before. After dinner I tried to start the dishwasher, but no other buttons on the panel respond except the last one I used, which is the rinse only cycle. I push and push, I tried pushing and holding, nothing works, I get no lights no anything. I've been using the "light wash" cycle for a long time and I normally just push the start button and the last cycle used starts automatically, so I wasn't a

Whirlpool GU2300 built in Dishwasher. It rather suddenly began shutting off in mid-cycle. If I cancel or open it, getting it to finish the cycle or even drain takes many tries.Once started, the cycle might take several hours with long pauses during the cycle. When it puases, none of the lights are on at all. If the cycle is disturbed, the normal wash light blinks, and if I hit cancel, the cancel light and the normal wash light blink.

I have a kitchenaid dishwasher model kuds24se with a problem. I MUST hit cancel before I hit start. Note that it doesn't matter how long it's been since the last cycle. It could be a few minutes or a day or more. I have to hit start to get a complete wash cycle. If I don't hit cancel, the washer goes through some sort of cycle and stops. It seems like a normal cycle but of course it is not because I don't hear any water and, upon completion, when I open the door there is heat but the soap dispen

When dishwasher is set to begin, sensor takes very long period of time. Cycles are longer than minutes indicated. Dishwasher fills with water but does not wash. Water then drains as though cycle is complete and moves to next cycle. Then the process continues. When cycle for drying is reached, much heat is given and occasionally it smells as though there is burning. A 82 minute procedure turns into hours.

We have just purchased and installed our dishwasher. Towards the end of the cycles it has a very high pitch noise when the heated drying cycle. Is this normal, or is there something wrong? It is VERY annoying - it reminds us of a 'ringing in the ears' noise. Also - is there a listing of time for each cycle? It seems that it runs a LONG time in each cycle that I have tried - with or without any specific instruction, i.e. heated dry. Thank you.

I have a 1999 bosch SHU 4300 dishwasher given to me. It worked great for about two weeks. Now it takes for ever *3-4 hours* to complete a cycle (if it does). I have opened the door to see it filled with sudsy soap after this long. I have checked the hoses and they are not kinked. Once the cycle of cleaning is over, If I reset it manually, it will rinse the dishes and empty just fine. But I have to manually get the dishwasher to advance to the rinse and dry cycle every time now.

I have a Whirlpool ADG937 dishwasher (9 years old) which will not complete a 65c wash cycle. It starts Ok and runs for a long time but then continually bleeps, when I open the door the programme indicator light is on the rinse cycle. Long cycles My dishwasher (approx 7 years old) will run in the wash cycle for hours...until I physically turn the nob to "rinse"; then it will stay in that cycle until I advance the knob to the final (expel water) stage. I checked the filter and the blades - no obstructions. Also, when completed, the dishes are hot, so I know the heating element is working.
