Fills with water, sounds like it starts to pump water then stops, then start again. It attempts to start pumping water 3 or 4 times them turns off leaving the water in the tub. I have read about the water needing to heat up for the cycle to advance. When I check the water that is left in the tub it is warm but not hot. The heating element is not hot either. I did a continuity test on the heating element and it seems to check out ok. I also did a continuity test on the red wire from the heating e

I have an LG dishwasher, model LDS 5811ww. The machine fills with water, then stops filling when the error code IE comes on. I have cleaned the inlet filter and the whole inside of the tub, by taking apart the sump filter. There is good water pressure filling the tank. When I turn off the power and restart any cycle, the pump will empty the tank, then begin filling the tank again...until it is stopped by the error code IE again coming on. The other thing I notice is the water level in the tub.

I have a Kenmore Ultra Wash Dishwasher (Model Number 665.15634) that will not fill up properly. When I try to run a cycle (any cycle), the first thing the dishwasher should do is fill up with hot water. But in my case, my dishwasher fills for about 10 seconds, then stops. Then tries to fill again for about 7 seconds, then abruptly stops again. And this process goes on and on and on. The dishwasher never fully fills up nor starts the wash sequence properly. Once the dishwasher fills up, it

Dishwasher wont fill with water. just before it stopped filling i was turning the dial (a lot) between the wash cycles back and forth to attempt to get it to fill and drain (I didn't let it go through a cycle). We also removed the hose from the machine as it had split and replaced it and we had the machine tilted on it's side. the dial still clicks round but it sounds like the pump is going and it doesn't seem to be filling with water. Item: Whirlpool Ultra Dishwasher Age: 3 yrs Problem: Not enough water to effectively wash the dishes. State: When the dishwasher is started, the fill valve opens as normal. Only about 1/2 the amount of water is let in when the pump turns on and the washing cycle begins. Opening the door shows that the water level does not reach the bottom of the float. When I close the door, the wash cycle begins again but stops after a few seconds. This is when the water begins to fill again. This time, the wat

When dishwasher is set to begin, sensor takes very long period of time. Cycles are longer than minutes indicated. Dishwasher fills with water but does not wash. Water then drains as though cycle is complete and moves to next cycle. Then the process continues. When cycle for drying is reached, much heat is given and occasionally it smells as though there is burning. A 82 minute procedure turns into hours.

Maytag dishwasher model MDB7609AWW2 has a blinking clean light. I followed the advice on fixya (thankya!) and by alternating the normal and heated wash buttons I was able to return the lights to normal. However, once I tried to run a normal cycle, it didn't do anything other than fill and drain. I then ran the hot water faucet in the sink until hot and tried another new cycle, but no luck. Any advice is MUCH appreciated!

Dishwasher fills with hot water. Float OK - water feed stops when full. Motor humms but no water spray (in all opperating modes). Cancel selection (with cancel button) and close the door. The water drains then the unit shuts off. Water feed OK. Drain Cycle OK. Looks like spray pump hung but do not know. Cannot find a reset button (as with disposal) or way to free hung pump motor. I did see glass pieces in the drain. Possibly a small piece hanging the motor.

I have the Siemens SL84A305UC Dishwasher. All of a sudden it stopped cleaning dishes, but everything sounds normal and it fills and drains water, and sounds like it is completing the cycle. In the past when I opened the door while it was actively washing the water would spray out aggressively. Now, when I opened it while it was supposed to be washing I see just a small amount of water coming from the bottom wash blade, and not even enough to turn the blade very far. I push the reset button hoping it will stop and all it does is go to "sensing" then back to wash. I have to open it to get it to stop temporarily, but there is water sitting at the bottom of it. A GE triton dishwasher causes hammer noise when stops filling. The sink faucet works fine as do all the other faucets in the house. I cleaned all of the traps in the dishwasher. Because the sink works, I don't think it is a sink valve problem. I turned off the water to the house and drained the system, the air chambers should be good. Is there some component of the dishwasher that could be causing the noise? Would cleaning the pump help? If so, how would I do that?

The cause of the hammering noise, (slamming) is due to the water inlet valve on the Dishwasher (DW) shutting off abrutly once the DW reaches the proper amount of water.\015\012\015\012If this is an older DW, you might want to replace the ... GE Dishwashers
