Machine makes grinding noise at beginning of wash cycle and not much water appears to be entering dishwasher.what's my problem?

Hi

If you hear the sound from the area where water enters the\015\012unit then it is the water inlet valve that has gone bad and should be replaced.\015\012However, you can also try to clean the hose and inlet for any clogs/blockages\015\012before replacing it. If the sound comes from the bottom of the unit then it can\015\012be with the impeller however, after reading your post it seems that the valve\015\012is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further\015\012assistance.

My ariston lsv 66 dishwasher will not start washing cycle. It makes the pumping noise as it normally does at the start of the cycle and some water enters the bottom of the machine but then it stops. I have checked to make sure that there are no leaks so the problem is with the filling up of the machine. I live in a hard water area and haven't used anything to help reduce the limescale so expect this to be playing a part. I have tried all the washing cycles but the same thing happens. Any advic

Water seems to be leaking into the dishwasher at the end of the cycle the water appears to be clean, so I am wondering about a seal of some kind on the hot water line leaking or whatever. It is a Bosch Dishwasher SHU series 3200 My problem is the same. Water leaks in to bottom of dishwasher over about a 2-3 day period. The dishwasher runs fine. It does not ever run over. The water seems to stop entering the dishwasher after it reaches a certain level.

You have a bad water valve. When the unit is off, the valve should seal and the water should not flow. Something has gotten in the valve and is keeping the needle up or the diaphram in the valve has deteriorated. replace the water valve and you wil ... Dishwashers

The water is pumped out after the rinse cycle then it continues to run and make an unusual noise but nothing happens. The noise is almost a grinding sound. There is also a smell like some part may be hot or the wiring may be hot. I can reset the dishwasher and re-run the cycle up until that same point and it does the same thing again. I have had a repairman out twice in the last six months. The first time he could find nothing wrong because the problem was intermittent and he couldn't see anythi

My Maytag dishwasher model MDB7130AWB started making a grinding noise tonight during drain cycle. We just had some work done on the sprinkler system and the water main to the house as well as the check valve for the sprinkler system have been turned off and on a lot the last two days. I noticed that we had some dirty water come out of a sink in a bathroom, after that repair. Don't know if that could be related to this problem but it was worth mentioning.

Dishwasher is making a loud grinding noise when it's started. Doesn't matter the cycle choice; the cycle starts as normal then once started up starts making a sort of grinding noise as the water is pulsing, like something is stuck or blocking the "push" of water. I couldn't see anything stuck in the bottom - any thoughts before I call a repair person? I've never owned a dishwasher before - maybe there's a basic drain/blockage thing I should check out first? And, any recommendations for repair

Kenmore dishwasher My Kenmore dishwasher model 630.16302401 is not successfully completing wash cycle. When I hit "normal" and turn it on, water enters the d/w, and the sprayers (both top and bottom), spray water. Approx. 10 mins. later, the water is drained. At that point, it appears that water never again enters the d/w to complete the wash cycle. In fact, the soap in the dispenser does get released, and the door opens. Motor makes noise shortly after starting, makes normal sound level during main body of wash, then makes noise again during what I'm guessing is the rinse cycle. I think I need to check the water pump/motor on my Bosch SHU43C dishwasher. It seems the water enters at the start of the wash cycle but then there is silence through the remainder of the cycles. Water will not spray. The drain appears to work ok to drain most of the water out. I have the washer out and upside down. Any hints on removing the base to get access to the pump? Should AI be looking at the control panel also for a fault? (the cycles seem to count down ok)

Loud humming when the water enters the dishwasher. The copper pipe vibrates. The dishwasher is approximately 11 years old. Problem slowly getting worse over time. I tried to tie down the copper pipe in the basement to no avail. When I closed the right angle stop valve and reopened, the problem got much worse and won't go away even if I grab the pipe. Only happens when water enters the dishwasher.

My Kenmore Elite dishwasher (model 665.17462300) is not spraying the water from the basin in the bottom up through the rest of the dishwasher. The basin fills with water, then just makes a humming noise and appears to splash a little of the water around the very bottom of the dishwasher. When we cancel the cycle, it does drain out the water from the basin. I cleaned all the gunk and debris out of the basin in the bottom, but it didn't make any difference.

Hi. Our DS603I dishwasher starts on the Rinse cycle on its own - it beeps, red light flashing and no water entering the tub. It does this even if it is open. Similarly, when we try to turn it on to do a normal or heavy cycle, it starts (making quiet a loud noise) and then goes to the Rinse cycle, beeping, red light flashing, no water going into the tub. The pump wheel is turning. We can't find any blockages in the tubes. We have power-cycled it many times. Please help!
