Kenmore Elite Stainless Steel 24 inch tall Model 66577963K701. The heating element works for "heated dry" but not for "Hi Temperature" wash. It used to do so and when I opened the door a nice blast of steam would come out. My hot water tank is a great distance from the washer so we usually run the hot water tap in the sink for a bit until hot water comes... but the heating coil no longer kicks in on any of the cycles (Smart Wash / Normal Wash ). The high limit switch works and as I said, th

Dishwasher I have a whirlpool dishwasher that does not appear to be getting hot water. The washer water is cold initially and only seems to get warm once the heater in the base of the machine heats it. The hot water supply line does not get hot so I presume no water is being supplied. Is the water supposed to be hot at the start. If yes could this be caused be a faulty inlet valve and if so how can I check. The dishes are dirty especially on the top rack. Thanks for your help. David

Gendos is on track with his question. I have the same dishwasher and it doesn't get enough hot water to clean the dishes and runs for hours because the heating element wasn't designed to heat water, just maintain it. The only solution we have found ... Whirlpool GU2400XTP Built-in Dishwasher

Leaking from under dishwasher. Has run great since 1996. Under counter model in manufactured home. Chnaged to drop in pellet dishwasher detergent and it ran great. There is no water inside the dishwasher circular drain. We never use the heating coil to dry the dishes. We have turned off the water supply line under the sink to the dishwasher. Cool clear water is running out from under the bottom right corner. The hot water heater is right next to it and everything is dry and warm under it which i

Hi,Depending on the model you have this could be a couple of things. The most likely suspect is the water inlet valve. What I would recommend to do is take the bottom toe panel off, typically there are either 2 or 4 screws holding this pa ... Dishwashers

My Whirlpool Gold dishwasher "shuts down" after the first 2-10 minutes, leaving the Sensing light and the Water Heating light showing. Any suggestions? Also, the horseshoe-shaped metal coil at the bottom of the dishwasher is burnt-colored. When I touch it, it looks like black soot has fallen off of it. Thank you ahead of time for your assistance!

As you mentioned the coil is burned that can also be the problem.it has to be replaced.but also other possibility is faulty shut-off valve in the dishwasher makes the unit shut -off after certain period of time.\015\012----------------\015\012so chec ... Whirlpool Dishwashers

Kitchenaid dishwasher - small pieces of food are left on otherwise clean dishes. Water level comes to about 1 inch below heater coil. I ran it without dishes (or soap) and added about a quart of water so that level came to about 1/4 inch below heater and that's when I noticed food pieces on drain surfaces (nylon filter under bottom spray arm unit and circular plastic "trap" surrounding it). Spray arms holes are clear and water is hot.

It sounds as if you figured the solution out. The holes in the spray arm(s) get plugged by small debris, (tooth picks, seeds, bits of plastic like candy wrappers, etc) and the water does not reach the dishes to wash and rinse effective ... Dishwashers

My Whirlpool dishwasher is not draining on the last cycle and the heating coil is not heating. Should I repair or replace it?

You can try to find the drain blockage b4 replacing it. Easiest is to check the hose and connections to the drain under the sink. Make sure the hose is not kinked. Remove the hose and check for food blockages. If it is connected to a garbaqe disp ... Dishwashers

Yes I have a whirlpool DU1345XTVB1 dishwasher. Just got in July. After each wash cycle the dishes are not dry. I have been using Finish gelpacs w/jetdry & also have a off brand drying agent in reservior to help dry dishes. The water temperature is set pretty hot & washer is draining good. I have tried checking wash cycle a few minutes into 1st cycle to see if water is in filling & heating. Didn't know if maybe heating element going out or thermostat not working? Thank you for your time.

About a month ago, our dishwasher stopped working properly. It runs fine and the soap is being used, but the dishes are not being cleaned and especially on the top rack. I opened the dishwasher this morning while it was running and I noticed that the coil on the bottom was red (maybe heating water) but only about 1/16th of it. Could this be the problem?

I have a Bosch SHU53513UC/U12 dishwasher. My initial problem is that the washer smells bad after a cycle and I've noticed some water sitting in the bottom of the unit. After running a diagnostic test, it results in a "2" heating fault. I followed your advice and used a current coil to and attached it to the GYBK-a1-3 hot wire on the control board. After running the test again, it only gets as high as 1.15A and manual says it should reach 11A. What should I do next?

Bosch Dishwasher I currently own a Bosch dishwasher. One of the selling points, if I'm remembering right, of the dishwasher was it was supposed to super heat the hot water that is coming in from the tap. I have 3 problems. We have to rinse the dishes by hand before putting them in the dishwasher, Otherwise they won't come out clean. The dishwasher will run for four hours sometimes longer. It doesn't seem like it is heating the water any hotter than what comes out of the tap.
