Purchased in 2003. Dishes were exquisitly clean till 2008. Our water heater temp was set at 140 temp. This heater was replaced with a heater now set at 125 temp. In the past two years dishes are nowhere as clean on the the normal start setting. Should I go to the Pots and Pans start setting to get hotter water or should I turn up my water heater? All this is assuming that water is not hot enough. Does the washer heating element ever burn out?

Try turning on your water at the sink for a while on hot let it run then start the wash cycle that should help. what that will do is let the cold water run out of the pipes and therefore you will have a hot water start. ... Kenmore Dishwashers

Follow-up I've removed the lower arm, I'll spend some time and see whether I can get the pobem sorted out. My wife noticed the the detergent was smeared all over the door and repeated tries didn't get it out. Therefore, the water is not spraying. I can confirm the water is filling on the bottom and draining. The heater is working well. I am thinking there is no pressure to send the water through the tubing to the upper and lower arms. The motor is hot to touch (118 degrees with my temp probe). I

Well, this is kind of a big job. you need to disassemble all around the pump and clean screens. Also, clean discharge ports on the spray arms. \012Really, dishwahsers do a poor job of removing food, and so plates should be pre rinsed. ... Whirlpool Dishwashers

If the heating element is coming on, you shouldn't have to replace it. It is most likely the thermostat. It is also possible that it's a wire or something else.If you send the model of your dishwasher to [email protected] I ... Dishwashers

When my dishwasher completes its cycle, there is powdered detergent left in the dispenser and the dishes aren't as clean as they use to be. This started happening after I ran a HI TEMP WASH with a SANI RINSE cycle. I'm thinking that either the detergent dispenser door is opening late or the water is not getting hot enough. To check the dispenser door, I left the door open and just poured powder into the dispenser compartment. This did not improve the cleaning.

Dishwasher I have a whirlpool dishwasher that does not appear to be getting hot water. The washer water is cold initially and only seems to get warm once the heater in the base of the machine heats it. The hot water supply line does not get hot so I presume no water is being supplied. Is the water supposed to be hot at the start. If yes could this be caused be a faulty inlet valve and if so how can I check. The dishes are dirty especially on the top rack. Thanks for your help. Our Whirlpool KUDP01ILBS2 dishwasher isn't working like it used to. Dishes seem to be getting partially clean, they aren't getting dry at all and it seems they may be being rinsed/washed with dirty water. There is plenty of water in the machine when I interupt the cleaning cycle. I always run the hot water in the sink before I start the dishwasher so the first water into the dishwasher is as hot as possible. Also the sani-rinse light is flashing when the cycle "completes".

FDW60 Fault Hi, I have exactly the same problem. My dishwasher starts and washes ok but appears to get very hot during the drying phase and then the two lights fast and eco flash warning of a heater problem. I suspect either the heater, thermostat or control PCB. As the rest of the cycle seems of and the water gets hot then I'm assuming the heater and thermostat are OK. When the dishwasher attempts to dry is when the problem starts. Did anyone find out what there fault was? Thanks

My dishwasher was moved for kitchen rennovations. When hooked back up again it would not fill up. It will run through a cycle but no water enters. If I squeeze the rubber hose that leads from the electronic valve to the tub it gets hot indicating that I am forcing hot water through the line. If I pour water into the tub it will wash the dishes but at the final 6 minute point it will go no further, I assume because it is not getting rinse water.

The washing, heated dry, and normal wash light just flash. I have unplugged and plugged it back in several time, i tried restting it by holding down the Rinse only button for 15 seconds. I pressed the high temp ater, heated dry, high temp water, heated dry buttons to try to reset. I also ran the hot water line that feeds the dishwasher until the water was hot. Nothing has helped. The machine is18 months old and therefor no longer under warranty.

Tank temp Our School Dist. has a Hobart dishwasher Model AM 15 T. After filling the unit it reaches a tank temp. of approx. 160 F, but when it is run through a couple cycles the temp. falls below 140 F, the min. wash temp is 150 F. The supply from the hot water tank is approx. 140 F. The rinse cycle reaches well above the 180 F min. Even though I turned up the thermostat on my hot water heater, the water in the dishwasher does not seem to be hot enough. Mold is growing in the food grinder and even though I choose the heat dry option, the dishes are never dry. Yet, when I touched the element, I got burned. The dishes are not getting clean because it doesn't seem to be hot enough to cut the grease.
