Having problems with your Dishwashers ?

Dishwaher was inoperable for 2 weeks waitng for part, now theres a horrible smell like old water that perhapl leaked into the wall-the repair man did not take the whole unit out--i've put bleach, disinfectant, in the under the counter sink next to the unit nothing works--is there any moisture absorbing chemical i can use

You should take out the filters in the base of the sump and clean them. also clean the sump. Then take off the door outer liner and clean along the bottom of the door seal. The bottom of the door seal is the worst place whaer a build up of greas forms. Once the lower door area is clean and the sump is clean get som descaler and run it through without dishes. You can buy dishwasher descaler or dishwasher cleaner from the supermarket. Keep the lower door seal clean regularly. dont put dishes i the machine with food on them. Dishwashers are not able to dispose of garbage, just grease from dishes. Good luckPS vinegar may help too.....

The overflow air drain on top of the sink that is connected to two hoses under the sink is leaking. It leaks out the top onto the counter. I took it abart but am afriad I did not put it back together right. There is a rubber ring that I think must be for sealing and I put it directly on the counter and then screwed down the air valve over this and water s coming out of the air flow valve and all over the counter.

I have run the diswasher full cycle and put the drain hose into the sink to test. It wont drain at all now and I dont hear the pump. My dishwasher leaks water from the top of my sink when in the drain cycle mode causing a mess on the counter top. How do I stop this leak? The plastic cover to the part which is located next to the faucet is cracked but there appears to be no leaks on the hose or on the part itself. Also, what is the purpose of this part? Is this the actual drain for the dishwasher and if so, why doesn't it tie directly into the drain?

Kenmore 665.16762000 We were washing dishes the other night and my husband walked into the kitchen to find water pouring out of the "air gap" in the sink. Now we cant get the unit to come on. Ive tried some of the various combinations of button pushing to re-set, but so far still not operating. I've had my Nautilus for 6 years and it cleans very well - but now, it won't drain fully and pools at the bottom of the unit. I have made sure that my garbage disposal was cleared first, too. and that water was draining properly in the sinks. I will need special tools to unscrew the drain filter in the dishwasher, right, or can I just use a pair of pliers to turn the little knobs? I am always careful to rinse all food off the dishes before putting them in the washer, but I guess I wasn't careful
