Dishwasher takes too long on cycle

\015 I have a BOSCH dishwasher SGS 43 E 02 ZA I find that the cycle is long esp on the economy cycle. The one time I waited like 3.5 hours and then eventually just turned it off. Also does this model switch off automatically when the cycle has ended.\015\012Thanks\015

This sounds like a heating problem. The cycle will not advance if the water is not up to the proper temperature.

Next time you run a cycle, open up the door after a few minutes. A large ball of steam should roll out of the machine. No steam = no heat = no timer movement.

The most common suspect for repair is your heating element. The fix may be a simple as a loose or broken wire leading to the element.

The element itself may also be bad. This is easily checked with a multitester. Set the tester to ohms or resistance. The element should have an actual reading. A result of zero or infinity or overlimit is not acceptable for your heating element. It should then be replaced. Good luck

Whirlpool GU2300 built in Dishwasher. It rather suddenly began shutting off in mid-cycle. If I cancel or open it, getting it to finish the cycle or even drain takes many tries.Once started, the cycle might take several hours with long pauses during the cycle. When it puases, none of the lights are on at all. If the cycle is disturbed, the normal wash light blinks, and if I hit cancel, the cancel light and the normal wash light blink.

When dishwasher is set to begin, sensor takes very long period of time. Cycles are longer than minutes indicated. Dishwasher fills with water but does not wash. Water then drains as though cycle is complete and moves to next cycle. Then the process continues. When cycle for drying is reached, much heat is given and occasionally it smells as though there is burning. A 82 minute procedure turns into hours.

I have a 1999 bosch SHU 4300 dishwasher given to me. It worked great for about two weeks. Now it takes for ever *3-4 hours* to complete a cycle (if it does). I have opened the door to see it filled with sudsy soap after this long. I have checked the hoses and they are not kinked. Once the cycle of cleaning is over, If I reset it manually, it will rinse the dishes and empty just fine. But I have to manually get the dishwasher to advance to the rinse and dry cycle every time now.

We were kind of waiting to see if it would stop on its own, which is why we let it go so long. I think it usually takes about 1 1/2-2 hours to wash. Could

My Bosch SHE45M built-in dishwasher is suddenly taking an extra-long time to go through its cycles. On Regular wash it will countdown from 117 minutes to 31 minutes. When it hits that time it resets to 87 minutes, then counts down to 1 minute and will not stop. I have to hit the cancel-reset buttons for it to drain. I have tried to do a hard reset by cutting the power at the breaker for 20 minutes or more. I'm interested in potential parts and a description of how to fit it! Thanks in advance.
