You want to make sure that the dishwasher is level and secure first of all. Then I would look into the door latch assy. Sounds to me that you are not making all the latch switches when closing normally. When you are slamming it, you are making the switches. The heating element runs through the neutral side of switches, therefor if the switch is broken or the latch is not making, no heating of the water. This results in a default or very long wash time. Item: Whirlpool Ultra Dishwasher Age: 3 yrs Problem: Not enough water to effectively wash the dishes. State: When the dishwasher is started, the fill valve opens as normal. Only about 1/2 the amount of water is let in when the pump turns on and the washing cycle begins. Opening the door shows that the water level does not reach the bottom of the float. When I close the door, the wash cycle begins again but stops after a few seconds. This is when the water begins to fill again. This time, the wat

I am a licensed plumber who installed a frigidaire fdb1o5rem1 dishwasher for a customer about 2 years ago. It has water to the solenoid valve and the screen is clean. I can see water coming in to the unit on left side through the port hole on the inside of the unit. Dishes do not get clean and it doesnt act like water is being distrubuted inside the dishwasher. Soap never gets washed away from door. Dishwasher makes funny sound in mid cycle like the pump is not running in wash cycle. Discharge p

I have the Siemens SL84A305UC Dishwasher. All of a sudden it stopped cleaning dishes, but everything sounds normal and it fills and drains water, and sounds like it is completing the cycle. In the past when I opened the door while it was actively washing the water would spray out aggressively. Now, when I opened it while it was supposed to be washing I see just a small amount of water coming from the bottom wash blade, and not even enough to turn the blade very far. I thought it was just a c

Kenmore (Whirlpool) 655 1589910 Dishwasher. Fills with water, motor makes horrible noise (buzzing / loud hum). Dishes do not wash and there is no evidence that any water pumped up to the spray arms. Spray arms are not clogged. We have a fully functioning water softener so it is not a hard water issue. Unit does drain normally. Either filter is badly clogged or pump is bad. How do I get to these parts to check them out?

Dishwasher, nautilus, doesn't spray water out the top arm? I'm haivng to wash dishes 2 times, and still no better results. I've tried opening the door fast during a water cycle to see which is the problem - can only figure it is the upper arm, the lower arm seems to have water coming out, can't tell if the tower raises completely up.

The jets on the arms can sometimes get blocked with food bits that have got past the filter. This reduces the water flow and rotation of the arms. The arms are easy to remove without tools (they are intended to be removed by the user). ... GE Nautilus 24" Built-in Dishwasher

Dishlex Global 310 model. My dishwasher has water sitting on the bottom of it and it wont drain. I noticed it after I did a cycle of dirty dishes and the 'fast' light was flashing when I went to open it. Which shouldnt have been because it was on a normal wash. The water has been sitting at the bottom for 2 days now and still wont drain! I've taken out all the parts on the bottom which come out and cleaned them. Still no change however.

I have a GE Triton XL dishwasher that is not spraying water onto the dishes. I just reset the power, and that didn't help. Putting it on the rinse only or wash cycle fills the bottom with water, but it sounds like a trickle vs. the spray. The heating element comes on and the soap door opens, but there's not spraying. I made sure there was nothing clogging the water line or other parts. What do you think is wrong?

When starting a wash cycle it pumps out the remaining water as usual. It fills normally but does not pump/wash the dishes. It continues to heat and when first noticed it seemed to have gone through the complete cycle but didn't wash. The detergent door had opened and the soap pack dropped out but it never dissolved. The dishes were extremely hot too. Is the same pump used to both drain the washer and wash the dishes?

Hi, I have an LG LDS4821 dishwasher and it appears to stop working properly. The dishes don't seem to be cleaned at all. It seems like the spray arms are not spraying the dishes as the dishes are still dry/dirty after a normal wash cycle. I can hear water pumping into the dishwasher, but when I opened it during a wash cycle, there was a puddle of water at the bottom of the

We live on an island in the Caribbean and we have a LG dishwasher (model LDF 8812) that has worked fine for a year, but has recently stopped washing effectively. At first, the top part dishes were coming out still soiled from food. Now the bottom part dishes are coming out soiled as well. Model KUDS30FXSSO, Unit attempts to start. Blue light on the front of the door comes on indicating the cycle is starting. Pump runs a few seconds as normal. Then the maching sounds like it trying to start the next step three or four times. The blue light goes out. Westinghouse Virtuoso 922 dishwasher. Wash cycle completes, but water does not drain out. If I let the cycle continue, after a delay the rinse cycle starts, but of course no clean water is pumped in so the dishes are "rinsed" in the dirty wash water. I have a GE dishwasher model GLDL560N10SS. I noticed a burning smell coming from it the other day and then realized that although I can hear water running into the dishwasher when I start it, it never actually runs in the sense that the water is pushed through the various outlets to wash the dishes.
